Did you know?
Siesta Beach was named No. 1 Beach in the USA!! by Trip Advisor.
We have 35-miles of beaches in Sarasota County, and all of them are different!
Sarasota County is reminding all beach-goers this holiday weekend to "pack-in and pack-out" all of the items they bring with them to area beaches, as part of a community-wide effort to keep the shorelines litter-free.
Trucks will be stationed at Lido, Nokomis and Siesta beaches throughout the weekend for trash and debris removal. Additional dumpsters placed at Ted Sperling Park at South Lido Beach, Siesta and Turtle beaches, and the North Jetty, will be emptied July 3 and again on July 5. Extra trash cans will be placed at each beach access point within each beach park.
Beach Wheelchairs are available to the public at no cost, year round, and for transport from parking areas to the shore, at the following beaches: Lido, Manasota, Nokomis, Siesta and Venice. Check with the lifeguards; except for Siesta Beach, where they can be signed-out at the concession area. Beach wheelchair form.
For convenience there are businesses in the vicinity that provide beach wheelchair rentals on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
