Shamrock Park Nature Center Open House and Tour Celebrating the Winter Solstice
Ever wondered what's inside the Nature Center at Shamrock Park? Come to an open house hosted by the park naturalist and volunteers for a VIP tour and behind the scenes look. Our natural history exhibits include real wildlife taxidermies, reptile specimens, Calusa Indian artifacts, southwest Florida fossils and a Horse Conch exhibit for seashell collectors. This is a family-friendly event for all ages. The Kids Corner, filled with puppets, books, toys, and a Touch Table is very popular with our little naturalist explorers.

Join Sarasota County Environmental Specialist and super sleuth Jeff Weber to explore a variety of natural habitats. Your guide will identify both native and non-native plants and resident wildlife inhabiting our preserves. No matter what the season, there is always something beautiful in bloom or the potential to see interesting wildlife.
